Licensing ClassesThe first step to starting a child care facility is to attend an orientation meeting. To start a home day care - register for Child Care Classes and sign up for Information Meeting (orientation). To start a child care center - call Eldonna Chesnut at (913) 477-8366 to set up your individual orientation. The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment's Child Care Licensing division works with all child care facilities in Johnson County.
