Parent Connect Series: Autism 101

Autism 101 explains in detail the Autism Diagnosis criteria, discusses the importance of evidence-based therapies/interventions and the next steps families need to take after receiving an autism diagnosis. It also will highlight autism supports provided by Children’s Mercy Autism Clinic.

• Participants will be informed of the criteria needed to get an autism diagnosis.
• Participants will come to know what evidence-based therapies are commonly used to help those with ASD.
• Participants will learn of helpful next steps recommended for families who have received this life-long diagnosis.

Parent Connect is open to any parent or caregiver living in Johnson County. The goal of the series is to provide parents and caregivers with information and learning opportunities through presentations from community and parenting experts.
