Healthy Relationships for Teens
Green Flags Only: A Real-World Guide to Healthy Relationships
For teens ages 15–18
What does a truly healthy relationship look and feel like? In this interactive class, teens will explore the foundations of strong, respectful relationships — whether romantic, friendships, or dating — in a way that’s honest, age-appropriate, and relatable.
What We’ll Cover:
- What Consent Really Means
- Understanding consent as clear, informed, enthusiastic, and ongoing
- Why silence or “not saying no” is not consent
How alcohol, pressure and coercion affect consent:
- How Communication Shapes Relationships
- How healthy communication builds trust and connection
- Different types of communication and how they may impact relationships
- How to practice active listening skills and express boundaries respectfully
Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationship Characteristics:
- Signs of respect, equality, trust, and support
- Recognizing red flags like jealousy, control, isolation, gaslighting, or pressure
- Understanding emotional safety and personal boundaries
- How to seek help for yourself or a friend
How Teens Will Learn
This isn’t a lecture-based class. Youth will engage through:
- Guided group discussions
- Short, thought-provoking videos
- Real-life scenarios and activities
Participants will leave with practical tools they can use immediately — how to communicate clearly, set boundaries, recognize warning signs, and build relationships rooted in mutual respect.
This class empowers teens to make informed, confident choices and understand that healthy relationships are built on respect, honesty, safety, and consent — every time.
