Children, no matter how young they are, do feel the absence of a loved one. This course will cover how we can help our children grieve a loss with support in their environments including within the home and in the classroom. The influence of families on their young children shows the effect they have on their successful coping, or struggle, with death. With children attending school or childcare settings many of their days, teachers have an opportunity to help children learn about death, coping, and grieving in a healthy way. This course has details specifically geared toward children aged three to five years but could be adapted for younger or older children.
