Understanding Your Child's Sensory Needs

Join us to learn how sensory needs impact children’s emotions, behavior, and focus. This session will help parents recognize sensory seeking and sensory avoiding behaviors and introduce practical tools that support children in regulating their bodies and managing big feelings at home.

In This Session, We’ll Discuss:
• How sensory needs affect behavior and emotional regulation
• Sensory seeking vs. sensory avoiding behaviors
• What a “sensory bucket” and sensory diet are
• Simple sensory tools and calming activities for home
• When occupational therapy support may be helpful
Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with others navigating similar challenges. Content is especially helpful for families with children under 12, with tips that can also support teens.
